Messe Frankfurt with a powerful global network of environmental-technology fairs

18 May 2016

Bayern International supports Water Expo China again

The international exchange of knowledge and expertise is more important than ever before, especially in the field of environmental technology. With four trade fairs and two congresses revolving around the subject of environmental technology, Messe Frankfurt offers platforms where the industry can present its innovations, meet business contacts and discuss the current demands. Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Messe Frankfurt, explains: “Environmental technology is a worldwide growth market, particularly in the threshold countries. With our high-grade events in the field of environmental technology, we promote and strengthen the international networks between manufacturers, users and public authorities.

A focal point of Messe Frankfurt’s environmental-technology fairs is the continent of Asia where, driven by economic growth and political goals, the demand for ultra-modern environmental technology is growing rapidly. Thus, China’s 13th five-year plan calls for 15 percent of the energy mix to come from renewable sources by 2020. Moreover, experts expect investments worth around US $ 6.23 trillion in technologies characterised by low carbon emissions and renewable energy. The environmental-technology fairs held by Messe Frankfurt in Asia are Water Expo China in Beijing, Eco Expo Asia in Hong Kong, Building Solar China and Watertech, Wastetech and Cleantech in New Delhi.

As an established trade fair for the Chinese water-management sector, Water Expo China in Beijing from 15 to 17 November 2016 presents an extensive spectrum of products and services coupled with numerous opportunities for networking. The assortment to be seen ranges from pumps, seals, irrigation and desalination plants, via modern landscape architecture relating to water and the urban environment, to measuring equipment for testing water quality, inflatable rubber dams and sewage-pipe repairs. International pavilions feature regularly at the fair, which is supported this year by, inter alia, Bayern International. Companies from this German state interested in taking part have until 17 July 2016 to register for the pavilion (www.bayern-international.de). Around 350 companies are expected to make presentations at the fair this autumn.

Eco Expo Asia in Hong Kong is one of Asia’s most important environmental-technology fairs. The range of products and services presented by the 300-plus exhibitors covers the entire spectrum from modern environmental management to environmentally-friendly products for building and the home. The trade fair, which is supported by the Government of Hong Kong, promotes the interaction between public authorities and companies. The next edition will be held from 26 to 29 October 2016. The trade fair is a joint venture of Messe Frankfurt and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The use of building-related solar energy is the main theme of Building Solar China, an industry conference and exhibition, the next edition of which will be held in 2017.

The trio of Watertech, Wastetech and Cleantech India in New Delhi comprise a high-grade congress and exhibition for the aspiring Indian market. There, top speakers analyse the current demands on modern environmental management in India. The next edition of this trio of events will be held on 26 August 2016.

Waste & Recycling Expo Canada is also one of Messe Frankfurt’s environmental-technology fairs and made its debut last year together with Municipal Equipment Expo Canada. This event duo, which will next be held on 9 and 10 November 2016, is expected to attract around 200 exhibitors to Toronto where they will present their products for modern waste and recycling management.

Environmental Technology is part of the Technology Business Unit of Messe Frankfurt, which totals around 70 events worldwide. Further information about the environmental-technology fairs of Messe Frankfurt can be found at www.environment.messefrankfurt.com.
