Intersec Building: integrated concept for connected security in buildings has been given a warm reception

14 May 2020

The market has reacted with a great response to a new offer. Embedding an international platform for connected security in the leading international trade fair Light + Building catches the spirit of the times and reflects the demand shown by a rising number of users. Here is the good news: preparation for Intersec Building 2022 will be getting underway right now.

At the beginning of 2020, the security industry was already well prepared for the Intersec Building platform. Its focus, however, was rapidly shifted to another security risk, which measures only a few micrometres: the Corona virus. A challenge to which some providers of security technology are already finding initial answers. Thus camera sensor systems, along with facial recognition, can also monitor bodily temperatures. But the technology only becomes really intelligent through networking in buildings and partially beyond. Software for this purpose can then, for instance, check how many persons are in a room and what distancing they are keeping from each other. The need for applications of this kind is definitely huge, and readiness to invest in the safety and security of staff and customers has rarely been higher.

Due to the Corona pandemic, both Light + Building and Intersec Building had to be moved from their original date in March to September 2020. Now Messe Frankfurt, together with its partners – the ZVEI and ZVEH – and the Trade Fair Advisory Council have agreed to defer the eleventh Light + Building and to hold it in its normal sequence from 13 to 18 March 2022. A step to which, given the situation created by the health crisis and the associated bans on events, plus travel restrictions, there is no alternative.
