Speaking after the fair, Mr Edward Che, General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said Intersec Shanghai 2026 demonstrated how domestic innovation is increasingly connected with international demand. “The feedback from both Chinese and international participants was encouraging,” Mr Che said. “Across the fairground and in the conference sessions, we saw productive discussions on how intelligent and connected systems can improve risk management, coordination, and operational reliability. The show’s overarching theme of ‘International Leading Technology + Comprehensive Safety Scenarios’ reflected that focus – with innovation viewed from a practical and applications-driven perspective.
The 2026 edition highlighted how digital and intelligent systems are advancing safer infrastructure and more effective emergency management. From access control and AI-powered video analysis to data management platforms and integrated communication systems, exhibitors emphasised solutions that combine detection, response, and decision support. Beyond showcasing standalone technologies, the fair reflected a broader industry shift: from individual devices to integrated, scenario-based solutions that enhance public safety, industrial operations, and critical infrastructure.
Returning exhibitor Mr Lu Pengfei, Manager, Raythink Technology Co Ltd said, “Intersec Shanghai brought together equipment manufacturers, system integrators, and end users from both China and overseas, creating an ideal environment for industry exchange and cooperation. The communication quality and client feedback were encouraging, and we will continue to follow up on the business opportunities identified during the fair. This platform helped us understand different regional needs and industry trends.”
Echoing this from an international perspective, Mr Lothar Sysk, Chief Representative, VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH shared: “This was our second time exhibiting at Intersec Shanghai and we continued participating to demonstrate, especially to government stakeholders, that our certification represents high quality, reliability, and long-term trustworthiness. Being at the fair was an important way to remain visible and support the industry’s development. Over the past few days, we met manufacturers, existing partners, and potential new customers. We also welcomed visitors from Canada, China, Italy and Türkiye. The international recognition of our certification further supports companies looking to expand into global markets.”
On the buyer side, the fair reinforced its role as a sourcing hub linking global demand with China’s expanding safety manufacturing and technology base. Ms Shakira Kalmuratova, Head of HR Service at Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank (Uzbek), commented: “This was my first visit at Intersec Shanghai, and I came to look for solutions that could support our employees and customers, particularly in video AI-powered analytics and behavioural assessment. The business matching meetings were invaluable for connecting me with diversifying suppliers offering technologies relevant to our needs, and we hope to have further discussions after. It also helped us benchmark our current systems and learn about new developments. It would be very interesting to come back again next year.”
Across the three concurrent fairs, a total of 80,202 visits were recorded over the three days, reflecting sustained industry interest and active market engagement.
For domestic buyers, the platform proved to be closely aligned with their evolving sourcing and project needs. Mr Xu Zhengxi, Procurement Manager, Xuzhou Transportation Engineering General Contracting Co Ltd said: “I joined the fair to explore new technologies and solutions for emergency safety, particularly for bank projects and fire protection needs. With rising demand for intelligent security products, many exhibitors presented innovations based on AI, big data, and cloud platforms. The fair was very helpful for our business development and procurement plans, and for connecting with potential partners.”
Building on the industry’s push toward integrated safety systems, the new Resilient Infrastructure & Satellite Solutions Zone made its debut this year. The zone focused on “space, air and ground” integration – one of China’s fastest-growing innovation areas on safety and security application, linking satellite technology with the expanding low-altitude economy, to support emergency response, infrastructure monitoring and public safety application. Four new exhibitors showcased their latest satellite-based safety monitoring systems that highlighted real-world applications of this new concept. The zone attracted strong interest from international visitors, reflecting its rising global relevance.
Mr Zhen Li, Satellite Application Product Director, Shenzhen MagicCubeSat Technology Co Ltd, remarked: “This field is developing rapidly and offers broad application potential for both professional and public service users. Over the past three days, we welcomed visitors from the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and Europe who showed great interest in our technologies. With domestic competition intensifying, we are expanding into global markets where there are still significant opportunities for growth.”
The zone’s relevance was also evident among international buyers seeking specialised satellite-enabled solutions. Mr Amine Ibssaten, General Manager, Success Trading Company (Algeria) said, “Intersec Shanghai is very important for us. We are looking for advanced safety, fire protection and new satellite communication solutions to support government and infrastructure projects. We have already identified a supplier that matches our needs precisely and arranged follow-up discussions with company representatives and government officials. What we are seeking is not a one-time transaction, but long-term cooperation to introduce Chinese technologies into our country and connect with broader African markets.”
Complementing the latest offerings on the show floor, this year’s fringe programme featured a series of high-level summits, forums, and award presentation ceremonies. Key sessions covered global safety strategies, digital intelligence, resilient infrastructure, and satellite communication applications, as well as workplace, building, energy, and cybersecurity. Experts from government, industry, and academia shared policy insights and practical case studies, promoting deeper exchange and real-world application across the safety and security industry.
Mr Mohd Noor Ahmad, Head of Group Security, PETRONAS shared insights from his seminar: “At Intersec Shanghai, I spoke about how AI can enhance security through predictive analysis and data‑driven decision making. Instead of relying solely on manual monitoring, technology enables continuous observation and faster response during emergencies, as well as risk management. The platform offered relevant solutions and valuable opportunities to connect with state-owned domestic technology providers of our field, and we’re exploring potential collaborations to apply these innovations within our security operations.”
Similarly, Mr Sunny Li, Managing Partner China, MPS Archonic Group GmbH said: “I took part in this forum as many of the new products showcased at the fair align closely with our ongoing projects, which delivered strong potential for our rapid implementation. My presentation highlighted the development of industrial cities, including compliance requirements for foreign enterprises entering the domestic market, localisation channels, and key design considerations. It was a valuable platform to explore emerging technologies and practical applications, and it further reinforced my confidence in long‑term collaboration with local innovators.”
