Digital platforms have been the megatrend in textile care in recent years. Again, the innovation comes from other industries and has found imitators in the sector. Daniel Dalkowski, Managing Director of the European Research Association for Innovative Textile Care (EFIT), sums up what makes online marketing so significant: "The innovation here lies in bringing together ordering, flexible logistics and billing in a smartphone app or online platform."
On the road to Smart Laundry, young IT companies are supporting textile care with their robotics solutions and artificial intelligence approaches. Machine and plant manufacturers also benefit from start-ups. Elgar Straub, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, elaborates, "Start-ups play a role in mechanical engineering, dealing with technical solutions across all industries, such as virtual commissioning of machines or optimization of the process chain in production."
Another important playground for young companies is the topic of sustainability. Whether it's biodegradable packaging, innovative textile recycling or a contribution to the longevity of textiles - with their ideas, the young companies are contributing to the circular economy in textile care.
On the way to marketing their products, trade fair appearances play an important role. Texcare International will support young companies with an attractive start-up package from 27 November to 1 December 2021.
