March 2020
It is time for unity. Many European countries have taken drastic measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. “This concerns everybody”, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on television on 18th March 2020. “The advice of virologists is clear (…). Now, only keeping your distance shows that you care,” Ms Merkel continued. On Sunday, 22nd March, she consulted with the premiers of the German states on further restrictions on public life. As a result, also the premier of Hesse, Volker Bouffier, declared a substantial curb on social interactions.
The situation is serious and it is unpredictable how things will develop over the coming months. After intensive discussions with partners and exhibitors, Messe Frankfurt has for this reason decided to postpone Texcare International. Every four years, the trade show functions as a platform for exchange between countries and a catalyst for the future of the industry. The event was originally scheduled to take place in Frankfurt am Main in June 2020. The trade show’s organiser has now announced 24th to 28th October 2020 as the new dates to allow all participants to take new opportunities. Texcare International’s partner associations, Deutscher Textilreinigungsverband and VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies as well as leading companies in the textile services industry support the decision.
