Laundry 4.0

The textile industry promises growth, but to profit from this requires a willingness to change. Laundry and dry-cleaning businesses will have to be rethought in the digital age. The conference format Texcare Forum India prepares the industry for change on 15 February 2020.

January 2020

Quicker responses, increased interaction and more mass customisation: The fourth industrial revolution doesn’t stop at textile care and promises a transformation, from which not only major enterprises will benefit. According to the Technavio Research Report, from 2019 to 2023 the global market for dry cleaning and laundry services is expected to increase in value to USD 13.75 billion, an annual growth rate of more than 4 per cent. The theme of the opening keynote of the one-day conference Texcare Forum India, which will take place in Mumbai on 15 February 2020, is “Re-thinking the Business of Laundry & Dry Cleaning in the Digital Era”. The title already hints at the challenges the industry is facing. Experts such as Elgar Straub, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, Germany, and Venkata Chary, Vice President, Business Development at World Water Works India Pvt. Ltd., will report on innovative technologies, new customer experiences and industry trends in laundry and dry cleaning.

At-The-Door pick-up, smart laundry and new business: the more than 150 participants can look forward to interactive discussions, live demos and best practice insights. In 30 to 60-minute sessions, the current situation in the industry will be highlighted and insights offered into the near future. The overarching aim is to provide visitors with tips and tricks which will help their business stand out in a crowded marketplace and win new customers. Titled “Embrace Technology”, the fourth session focuses on the fact that owning the latest machines alone is not enough: for Industry 4.0 to work, organisational practices and structures must be fundamentally changed.

Texcare Forum India will take place at the same time as Laundrex India Expo 2020, India’s one and only trade show for the laundry segment.
