March 2020
What makes a factory smart? In the smart factory, intelligent textiles communicate with intelligent machines. They organise themselves independently by means of a smart data flow and the use of RFID and robotics. Visitors to Texcare International in Frankfurt am Main from 20th to 24th June 2020 will get to see these innovations and learn more about them. Digitalisation will be one of the main subjects at the Trend Forum in hall 8.0 next to issues like sustainability and new job descriptions. The open conference will address textile laundries and small dry cleaners in the morning and target big companies and textile service providers in the afternoon.
Also on the agenda are new digital business models and operation technologies, social media marketing, store design, social standards, workwear trends, the standardisation and labelling of protective workwear, automation and data security. Texcare Forum’s programme is put together by Messe Frankfurt together with German textile care association Deutscher Textilreinigungsverband (DTV), VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies as well as European research association Innovative Textipflege (EFIT), European Textile Services Association (ETSA) and European Textile Care Technology (ETCT) and can be accessed at Texcare International’s website from April on.
Texcare International’s programme also includes the Young Texcare competition on 24th of June, again a fashion show in the Galleria between halls 8.0 and 9.0 and the “Best Practices Award” in the evening of 20th June. In the run-up to Texcare International, which attracted 300 exhibitors and around 16,000 visitors in 2016, a new report on the textile care industry will be presented at the World Textile Services Congress on 18th and 19th of June. One of the main issues analysed in the study from US economic magazine “The Economist” will of course be: digitalisation.
