TXCA & CLE

The industry’s 2020 cornerstone with future prospects

In 2020, it may be appropriate to point this out: Texcare Asia and China Laundry Expo 2020 (TXCA & CLE) was the only major event of the international textile care industry in Asia to be held in the year of the Corona pandemic. The good visitor turnout and the confident assessments of industry representatives made the trade fair in Shanghai an indicator for the time after the pandemic waves.

October 2020

Despite the uncertainties that the global textile care industry has faced in 2020, many visitors to the fair were optimistic about the future: the reason for this was the incipient recovery of the Chinese market, especially in the fields of medical laundry and automation. To help participants take advantage of these opportunities, the three-day fair showcased the latest technologies and products from the fabric care industry and provided an effective platform for business development. The three-day trade fair for textile laundry, leather care, cleaning technology and equipment, held in Shanghai in mid-October, attracted a total of 14,413 visitors and 122 exhibitors. A comparison with the previous year, with around 14,000 visitors and 180 exhibitors, reflects the importance and dynamism of the event under the pressure of the pandemic.

Prospects for a recovery in industrial production were the key theme of this year's fair. As a result, the product range at the fair precisely matched the growth sectors that are expected to flourish both during and after the pandemic, including medical laundry and hygiene solutions, increasing automation, digital technologies and intelligent laundry systems.

After a challenging year, exhibitors were pleased to establish new business relationships with a wide range of buyers from China's different geographical regions. For their part, the trade visitors were impressed by the quality and scope of the show, which enabled them to conduct their annual sourcing activities and obtain information on the latest technology trends from a single source. Junjie Zou, trade visitor from Jingzhou and Chairman of Kiwi Public Textiles Service, summarised this year's focus on medical laundry: "TXCA & CLE is a very important exhibition (...). The insights gained here can help the industry to better serve hospitals. After the pandemic, there will be higher standards and requirements for medical laundry when it comes to hospital infection prevention and control".
